Overlooking the green-covered mountains in the heart of Lefkada, Villa Charonia is situated in Spanohori Village, one of the best preserved traditional settlements in the island. With a large private pool, outdoor dinning area and private sun terraces as well as a fully fitted kitchen, a comfortable living area featuring a fireplace, four bedrooms and an additional spare room that can be used either as an additional bedroom or just a space to retreat, Villa Charonia is ideal for families, couples or larger groups that are looking for a charming, peaceful and comfortable setting for their holidays.

The stone-built Villa Charonia is a great representation of the traditional style of architecture. Dating over 200 years old, it has been lovingly restored and renovated (2018) to a very high standard with original features such as the wooden beamed ceilings, arched main doorway and exposed stone walls left visible to admire. It has been a labour of love from the owner who has even named the Villa in memory of his father, after a large sea snail called the Triton's trumpet, based in Greek mythology (scientific name: Charonia tritonis), which his father used to use daily to call his workers to the fields.

Even though Villa Charonia was restored and decorated with respect to the local style, it excels at having all the charm and character of the old house combined with the modern-day comforts our guests need. A comfortable and well thought out indoor and outdoor area and modern comfortable furniture and fittings should ensure a very enjoyable stay. The large private pool with its sun loungers and umbrella are perfect for cooling off on a hot day or stargazing at night! The different areas of the stone paved courtyard, the sitting area on the patio around the pool and the balcony on the first floor with stunning views over the whole valley, provide several areas to retreat and relax, even for the largest groups of guests.

The Villa is ideally positioned to explore the island of Lefkada. The main town of Lefkada, the scenic beaches of Agios Ioannis and Kastro and the marina are within 10 minutes drive. From there, after an additional 15 minutes drive you reach the famous beaches of the West Coast (Pefkoulia and Kathisma) where you can dive into the unforgettable turquoise sea of the island.

Please note our Villa is available from 3pm onwards on the day of arrival. Guests are kindly requested to vacate the villa no later than 10am on the day of departure.

If you require a later checkout we will do our best to accommodate you, however please appreciate that this will largely depend on other bookings we might have. Just let us know in advance so we can make any necessary arrangements.
