Blue Water Cutter Rigging Sloop Nortwind62 for skippered daily cruises

S/Y “Ithaki” is a 2023 refit NorthWind 62ft cutter rigging sailboat built in 1997 by the well-known shipyard Ola Astilleros based in Barcelona, Spain. Designed by the famous designer Marcelo Penna as a blue water cruiser, the Northwind62 features a tough hull construction and a superior rigging, including a full-batten mainsail, furling genoa and furling staysail.
Despite its age and thanks to constant maintenance and refitting, S/Y “ithaki” offers all the comfort and space of a boat over 18mt at the cost of newer but minimalist and cheaper charter design 50ft.
Full-teak deck, water-maker, air conditioning, a spacious 3.6m dinghy and much more, make S/Y “ithaki” the ideal boat for those looking for a compromise between comfort and convenience at competitive prices.

The interiors echo the spaciousness of the exteriors and show all that attention to detail and materials typical of naval constructions from the 90’s.

On board “ithaki” you can stay in a superb master cabin or in one of the two guest cabins, equipped with a double bed + eventual third bed.
Each cabin is equipped with a private bathroom.
The dinette is also spacious and bright thanks to the “deck-saloon” design of the Northwind62.

Talking about summer vacations, the real strength of this boat is the huge cockpit that can accommodate up to 8-10 people around a wide table, for a comfortable and unrivaled lunch and dinner on board.

The steering wheel cockpit is separated and features a “genuine and big” rudder wheel, to really sail like it used to do long ago.

9.00 - 10.00 Boarding
Palairos
We chose the town of Palairos and its marina as our base because unlike other places it still retains that typically Greek flavor and charm of small fishing villages.
Only 20 minutes from Aktio Preveza airport and 30 minutes from the center of Lefkada, you can enjoy a cappuccino in front of the fishing boats waiting to step onboard Turanga.

10.00-11.30 Bay cruise
At sea
heading south quitely to the small island of Formikoula, from the comfortable bow dinette, from the fly-bridge or from any other place on the boat, you can enjoy a splendid and unique view of the bay of lefkada, admiring the coast that from Palairos heads south towards Mytikas and Astakos, the profile of lefkada and its imposing mountains, the famous islands of Skorpios and Meganisi and even the other main islands of the inland sea (kalamos, kastos, atokos, ithaca, kefalonia).
Your first destination will be the charming little island of Formikoula, the home of the monk seal

While enjoying a swim or a refreshment in the crystal clear waters of the south-east bay of Formikoula, you may be lucky enough to meet the rare monk seals, who have a permanent home right in the caves of this peaceful islet

13.00-14.00 Heading Kastos
At sea
It is now time to leave the monk seals and head a little further south, to reach the characteristic island of Kastos, which with its small bays of very white sand and its windmills, is perhaps one of the most fascinating islands of this area.

14.00-16.00 Lunch

We will reach the small port of Kastos for a lunch in the local tavern in the shade of vine leaves and bouganvillae, or to have a light lunch on board Turanga, moored in one of the beautiful bays of the island

16.00-17.30 Kalamos & Mytikas
At sea
It's time to get back to Palairos.
we will exploit the shelter provided by the islands of Kalamos and Kastos to the brisk northwest afternoon wind to enjoy a comfortable navigation between the low island of Kastos and the imposing "Mountain in the sea" which takes the name of Kalamos.
Going around the island, hit by the intense scent of its pine forests and the deafening song of its cicadas, we will have a view of the characteristic village of Mytikas and its long beach.
Heading north back to Palairos, the setting sun over lefkada and meganisi will give us a new masterpiece of colors and emotions.

17.30-18.00 Back to Palairos
Palairos
It's time to leave us, but this intense day still has many emotions to give us!
Disembarked from Turanga, if you want, you can afford to stop for dinner in the port of palairos, with an ear to the noisy chatter of the village elders and an eye to the dish and the sea in front of you.
