Villa Senecio is situated on a mountain in Northeastern Lefkas , among many olive trees and offers a spectacular view of the sea. The area is called “Kontres” (from the word kontri which in local dialect means big rock). At an altitude of 320 m. you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the town, the canal of Lefkas and the beautiful Pringiponisa (Prince’s islands) which include the well-known Scorpios.
It is built with natural materials such as stone, wood and a traditional roof so it blends in beautifully with the natural environment.
It will offer you the Lefkadian hospitality and the warmth of a simple house but at the same time all the modern facilities of a mansion.
The house
The name Senecio comes from a plant with yellow flowers which blooms at the end of winter. This plant can be found all over the property.
Villa Senecio is a holiday home built on three levels of 150 sqm. As you walk through the stone-built entrance you will be fascinated. This leads you to the main entrance of the house. On the ground floor there is a living – room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The floor is a marble chess style pattern. The living room area has an old Coronelli map. The earthy coloured Sofas and curtains blend in beautifully with the wood. There are many antiques and cherished family belongings such as old sewing machines, paintings and prints which give a sense of warmth and nostalgia to the house. The lamps and the hand-made curtains give you a feeling of luxury. The kitchen and the living room are separated from the hall. In the kitchen you will find a great Bavarian dining table and a marble sink which gives the kitchen a country style.
A marble staircase leads you to the first floor. Here you will find 2 of the 3 bedrooms, the master bedroom with its two marble balconies and its own bathroom, and a smaller bedroom with its own bathroom that has a view of the pool. The bedrooms are painted in soft colors and in combination with the antique furniture ,laced curtains and which sheets the rooms give you a sense of tranquility. By following the wooden staircase you will reach the attic, with its exposed wooden roof made of local cypress trees ,where the third bedroom and its own bathroom can be found. The stone walls offer a naturally cool environment.
The garden
There are many spots in the outdoor area surrounding the house where you can enjoy the spectacular view.
There is a splendid Mediterranean garden , built at different levels ,with local aromatic trees and plants. The best spot is the traditional kiosk with a hand-made dining table .
Directly across the kiosk there is the chapel of Aphrodite. On the other side of the garden there is the barbeque area and the shower. The bronze details and the stone sink remind you of another era.
Accommodation
The Villa can accommodate up to six adults (plus 2 kids). It is also accessible to people in wheelchairs. The main building has three big bedrooms with double beds each with a private bathroom. On the ground floor there is a sofa which converts into a bed. There is also a bathroom and a fully-equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher, a fridge, an electric kettle,a Tassimo Espresso Machine and a toaster. The house is air conditioned. There is internet access and satellite television.
There are sunbeds and a wooden table in the pool area.
There is parking space for two cars.
The town of Lefkada is about 15 minutes drive (8,5Km) where you can enjoy taverns, cafes and bars.
CANCELLATIONS.
Any cancellation must be sent by registered letter, on strength of postmark
• Cancellation more than 270 days before the arrival date, we keep 10% of the total price of the stay.
• Cancellation between 270 days and 30 days before the arrival date, we keep 30% of the total price of the stay.
• Less than 30 days, we keep 100% of the price of the stay.
COVID SECURED CANCELLATION POLICY:
In case of a travel restriction like cancelled/grounded flight, closed borders or positive test results and by providing the corresponding proof, we are able to provide to you a voucher. The voucher will be of equal value of any amount paid to us, that will be valid for the following 18 months, so as to rebook your vacation with us!

Beautiful villa in a great location and with stunning views over the Island. Only a 10 minute drive into the town where there were plenty of great places to eat. The villa is in the mountains and there is a steep drive up to it but worth it when you get there and you do need a car. For evenings out would recommend using the local taxi driver George who knows the villa’s location and was very reliable. We went to a lovely beach at Kathisma which also had a great beach club and pool. Hosts were very helpful at booking stage and were very responsive throughout our stay. Would recommend.

If you are thinking of renting a villa in Lefkas then Lefkada Holiday Rentals should without doubt be your first port of call. From the moment I booked the villa until the end of the holiday they were professional, friendly, polite and prompt in dealing with every query and also arranged car hire for us at a competitive price (Broumis car hire - also recommended). During the holiday I had to report a problem with the cooker and within half an hour the charming owner Vangelis had come out to fix it, which took just a further half hour. The cleaning service was top class. The villa itself - Senecio (or Evi, as it is also known), is an imposing and sympathetically rebuilt/restored stone/marble country house situated approximately 1000ft above the town and extended harbour area which runs along most of Lefkada's east coast and has the most stunning panoramic views of anywhere we've stayed in the Med. The three large upstairs balconies and pool area with its large, quirky stone outdoor bbq/kitchen and seating areas are made for outdoor living, which for us is the whole point of holidaying in Greece. The villa itself has a large downstairs living area which has been beautifully restored, however we found the second bedroom on the first floor a tad small and all the ensuite bathrooms are a bit cramped. Wardrobe space would also be a challenge for six adults bringing full sized suitcases. None of these shortcomings alter the fact that Selencio is a stunning place to spend a restful holiday relaxing in its wonderful outdoor areas (sun or shade!) which is why we give it 5 stars. NB to find the villa follow the road uphill towards Karya (right fork on the Nidri road signposted coming out of Lefkada town) and after approximately 3km look out on a bend for a blue sign pointing left to Villa Selencio - follow the narrow road downhill and take the first (steep uphill) right turn and you'll find the villa up a steep drive at the end (get your revs before you tackle it!!)

A beautiful panoramic 200 degree view from this lovely villa on the hillside. We loved the pool and the seclusion of the villa - the driveway is quite steep but we were able to park both cars under the shaded carport by the house. The villa is only 15 min drive from the sea, a great location!

Villa Senecio has breathtaking views from the pool area and any one of the three large first floor terraces. Externally the architecture is very stylish and quite imposing for a villa of this size, whilst inside good quality, traditional designs have been thoughtfully incorporated especially in the downstairs living area. That's not to say it is without its shortcomings - the second bedroom on the first floor is quite small, the ensuites are all a bit cramped and six adults with full luggage would be pushed for wardrobe space. As mentioned by a previous guest, internet access is pretty awful. However, the four of us are seasoned travellers in Greece and like most when we go on holiday we want to spend as little time indoors as possible which is why, despite the reservations just mentioned, we've given Senecio five stars - it has a large pool surrounded by a range of seating options including an excellent shaded dining area, a quirky undercover stone charcoal BBQ (as well as a gas one) and the fabulous first floor balconies which are ideal for early evening drinks. For us, perfection. Additional, very important factors in our 5* rating were the outstanding service provided by Lefkada Holiday Rentals from start to finish, the high standard of cleaning and the lovely owner Vangelis who was very quick (half an hour) to come out and rectify a problem with the cooker. Without a hesitation, we would stay again.

Amazing view and villa. The swimming pool is very large ,the outdoor area is fantastic. A big welcome package and goodbye package. The owner was very nice and helpful. The road to the villa is steep, but the view is worth the effort.

Stunning location, incredible views, lovely swimming pool and bbq area. Eating area was fantastic WiFi dropped off from time to time but they were there to fix it within a day One of the mattresses was broken, however the owner replaced it almost immediately. A lovely hamper of local products was there to welcome us, of wine and delicious treats. I would highly recommend this place !! Very well stocked with loo paper, hand sanitiser, dishwasher pods, washing pods. The kitchen was well equipped.

Fantastic villa with a lot of nature stones used for the pillars and fassade of the house as well as marble at many places. Beautyful view over 180 degrees on the sea, island and mainland. Great infrastructure well equipped and of good quality build and big pool. Three balconies as nice and big as many of us can only dream of. Very friendly service, we also met the owner who was very nice and helpful and left some excellent wine and others specialities from the island!

This is a lovely villa with one of the best views I have ever seen. The villa is great for families - though care should be taken with the pool as it is quite deep and has no safety fence - be aware for very young children. We visited in April and were unlucky with the weather but it would be perfect in the warmer months - nice and cool. The host Vangelis and the agents were brilliant - really helpful and quick to respond to requests.

Die Villa Senecio liegt wunderbar einsam auf einem Berg. Der sehr nette Besitzer bringt einem persönlich zum Haus und erklärt alles nötige. Der Ausblick auf das Meer ist unfassbar schön und man kann sich nicht sattsehen. Das macht auch den weiten Weg in die Stadt oder zum Strand von mehr als 20 min wieder wett. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und es fehlt einem an nichts. Der Pool ist wunderbar groß und erfrischend. Ich würde das Haus auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Wir waren 2 Familien, insgesamt 7 Personen und hatten ausreichend Platz.

Fantastic house, breathtaking views. Cooler, less humid and more breeze than at the water as its 300m's up on an mountain side. The only issue was that there were a little vasps, but the owner came daily to spray to control it. No real problem.

The Villa was absolutely amazing and beautiful. The views were breathtaking, such a wonderful place to have intimate dinners with friends and family. The pool and verandas were very comfortable to kick back in and enjoy life away from work to vacation at. We highly recommend and hope to be back next year. Love it!
